SHANGHAI – April 21, 2026 – Today’s manufacturers in China are being pushed to deliver more in several key markets: Evolving sustainability regulations increase the pressure for packaging suppliers to incorporate recycled content and to avoid per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); Healthcare devices must meet increasingly stringent requirements while improving usability and reducing cost; The motivation to miniaturize high-frequency electronics, such as GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) modules, can compromise performance and signal integrity. At CHINAPLAS 2026, Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, will showcase technologies and present tech talks addressing these intersecting challenges April 21-24 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.

Focus on Sustainability Regulations
As manufacturers navigate compliance with China's developing GB standards for recycled content and chemical restrictions, Avient will present comprehensive rPET technologies spanning material selection, color management, and processing optimization. These include ColorMatrix™ OXB Oxygen Scavenger, a fully recyclable solution that extends shelf life and enables higher rPET content.

• Tech Talk: On Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 am (Hall 2.2, Stand 2.2J80), visitors can attend "Avient rPET total solutions for sustainability in response to future GB regulation in China," presented by Zhou Yu, Product Manager for Color and Additives Asia at Avient. The session will address practical implementation strategies for manufacturers working to meet both regulatory requirements and customer sustainability expectations.

PFAS-related scrutiny is also changing what processors expect from additives and processing aids. Complementing the rPET focus, Avient will demonstrate non-PFAS process aids and mold-release additives formulated without intentionally added PFAS. These Cesa™ and Hiformer™ technologies for PE and PP extrusion, along with the Colorant Chromatics™ Evoluscend™ additive for high-temperature polymers, provide alternatives as customers seek materials that support regulatory compliance preferences. 

A related aesthetic digital service for packaging producers will also be demonstrated:

• PCR Color Prediction Tool shows the color possibilities or limitations of selected PCR streams before sample development, helping shorten development time and improve global color consistency.

Precision Healthcare Devices
In healthcare, manufacturers are seeking colorants, additives, and engineered polymers that can support patient use, device durability, and regulatory consistency in a single formulation. For drug-delivery devices and other healthcare applications, Avient will highlight a tighter set of solutions aimed at meeting both product performance and compliance expectations.

Mevopur™ Healthcare Colorants and Formulations, along with Mevopur™ Healthcare Functional Additives, are manufactured across a global network of ISO 13485 facilities and are pre-tested to protocols (USP Class VI, ISO 10993, USP 661.1, European Pharmacopeia 3.1, and ICH Q3D). They can help customers address identification, branding, and polymer-performance needs in medical devices, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical packaging. 

Liquid colorants for liquid silicone rubber (LSR), available under the Mevopur™ and Hiformer™ brands, use carrier systems developed for high compatibility with LSR. They’re produced in ISO 13485-certified sites and were developed to help reduce the risk of extractables. 

Additionally, drug-delivery applications, such as auto-injectors, can benefit from multiple solutions across Avient’s portfolio of engineered thermoplastics, including Trilliant™ HC and LubriOne™, as well as its portfolio of Versalfex™ HC thermoplastic elastomers. These technologies combine with technical support to address impact resistance, wear resistance, custom color matching, grip, friction, and development work across material selection, part design, and process development.

Protecting High-Frequency Electronics
The telecommunications industry's drive toward smaller form factors and improved signal integrity has created demand for materials that maintain stable electrical performance in compact, high-frequency applications such as global satellite positioning systems.

For applications including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, Avient offers PREPERM™ Low Loss Dielectric Thermoplastics. These customizable formulations are engineered to deliver controlled dielectric performance with ultra-low transmission loss. Because these materials are also injection-moldable and colorable, they can provide greater design flexibility and processing efficiency compared to ceramic alternatives while supporting consistent electrical performance.

• Tech Talk: On Tuesday, April 21, at 1:40 pm (Hall 2.2, Stand 2.2J80), visitors can attend "Avient's Innovative PREPERM Solutions for GNSS Modules," presented by Jeko Jiang, Senior Marketing Manager of Specialty Engineered Materials Asia at Avient. The session will detail how these materials enable antenna miniaturization without compromising signal quality.

For this market, Avient will also showcase Complēt™ Long Fiber Reinforced Structural Thermoplastics engineered for structural injection molding applications where lightweighting and metal-replacement performance are required.
